Twiggy is a fun-loving, 2-year-old, 55-lb. sweetie. This little girl wants nothing more in life than to please her people. She is SUPER smart and LOVES training! Although she had a rough start to life, she holds no grudges and enjoys any attention she gets.Twiggy is kind of like a giant puppy. She didn’t learn her manners at a young age, so she is working on them now. She has learned quickly that jumping will get her no attention. She has been hanging around a 7-year-old and 2-year-old and does not jump on them, although when she gets excited she tends to forget to watch where she is going. She LOVES sitting and shaking hands with the kids for treats and she takes her treats oh so gently.

Twiggy has learned many commands in her foster home, including sit, shake, down, come, stay, and wait. She is the MISTRESS of loose-leash walking and will often look to her person for instruction when walking. Twiggy loves to play fetch but sometimes has to be reminded that she needs to drop the toy for the game to continue. She will occupy herself with toys and loves to eat her meals out of her food-dispensing Kong.

She does great in a crate and will go in immediately when her human says crate. She is not destructive when left out, except for her stuffed toys!! Twiggy would do best in a home with someone who would like to continue her training and keep her mind busy. She would excel at agility or flyball with the right person to show her the ropes!!

Twiggy has been with cats and dogs and has done well, but she does need proper introductions and reminders to keep play calm. Twiggy is truly a diamond in the rough. We would love to see her in a wonderful home with a family that will continue her positive, reward-based training!

Twiggy’s adoption fee is $200 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.Twiggy Twiggy1 Twiggy2 twiggy3 Twiggy4 Twiggy5
